How to Cook Vacation-Style

Cooking while on your getaway is a ton of fun! We provide a charcoal grill at all glaming locations for you to conjure up your culinary glamping delights. We also have some grates for loan at the office to put over your fire pit for campfire cooking. Here are some tips and tricks for cooking outdoors while on vacation.

    • FOOD | Have fun looking up food options for your getaway – we endorse grilling and totally love the creative recipes for grilled food – avoid the mess inside! Foil wraps are our favorite. Make wraps/burritos ahead of time to warm on the campfire. Fun foil-packed foods are just some of our favs. Read our monthly newsletters for recipe tips (also posted on our Chimney Rock Facebook  page).
    • LIGHT THE GRILL | Remember to take matches and a lighter with you!
    • KEEPING COOL | Bring a good cooler. For campers, put items you’re cooking with first on top so you won’t have to dig around. Consider bringing a second cooler for beverages.
    • We absolutely love reusable cooler packs in the check with food. They stay frozen 24-48 hours and can be emptied and stored away while not in use. Best of all your food does not end up sitting in water from ice melting.
    • POTS AND PANS | We recommend using disposable foil pans and foil: they’re a great, recyclable way to cook with easy cleanup. KISS method (keep it simple, stupid)! Cabin guests – pots and pans are provided.
    • UTENSILS | camping guests   bring tongs/spatulas, silverware, plates, cups, etc. Anything you’ll need to eat and do food prep. They make great disposable and recyclable options these days!
    • Glamp cabin guests – utensils are provided.
