Campsite Description
Riverside Canvas Camping Tents
Tucked down near the river (about a 5-minute walk from our shower house), our canvas camping tents offer a simple, peaceful way to experience the outdoors — with just enough comfort to help you relax.
Each tent is set up and ready for you with a queen-size bed and fresh bedding included, so you can enjoy a good night’s sleep after a day of exploring. Outside, you’ll have your own private charcoal BBQ and a deck with a table and chairs, perfect for slow mornings with coffee or winding down in the evening as you listen to the river nearby.
That said — these are still canvas tents. They’re meant to give you a true outdoor experience. You’ll hear the breeze, the rain, and the sounds of nature around you. They are rustic by design and closer to traditional camping than luxury glamping. If you’re looking for climate control and hotel-style amenities, these may not be the right fit — but if you’re wanting fresh air, river sounds, and a cozy place to rest your head under canvas, you’ll feel right at home.

Chimney Rock Campground is more than a camping trip away, it is a campground resort with river trips leaving from our grounds! Part of what makes Chimney Rock so special is our amenities are included. We do have high-speed wifi at the rec building/office – so if you need to send an email or stream a movie on a rainy day, we’ve got you covered.
Our base rates include more amenities than you would expect from any other camping experience, including access to:
- Access to Common Spaces/Amenities: Bathhouse, Newly-Renovated Rec Building
- Access to Outdoor Amenities: Beach, Sand Volleyball, Horseshoes, ladder balls, Trails
